Drumroll please....

May 3rd, 2008 at 10:51 pm

So, with my first real post I thought I would post my total debts:

Car 1: 9200 @6% interest
Car 2: 13700@6.22%
Credit card 1: 1400 @ 0% till 5/2010
Credit card 2: 2400@ 3.99
Credit card 3: 7920 @ 3.99
furniture: 600 @ 0 %

Plan to pay them off, who knows... Just kidding. The stimulus will pay off cc#1, and part of the furniture. Will snowball furniture next month and a half. Way too much overtime this month will demolish number 2... After that, its slow and steady wins the race. I have a goal to be debt free in 24 mths (plus or minus one month)... We are on schedule to do that with the regular payments we make plus about 100 extra each month.
My husband doesn't necessarily care about being debt free, its a massive goal for me. We'll see who wins... Since I pay the bills, I'm betting I'll be on the winning side!

A suggestion--I noticed that cc#1 is at 0% interest until May of 2010. Why don't you try to make a dent on cc#2 with the stimulus check? Just my two cents.

I agree with Debbie. Put it towards CC#2 and then go after #1 if you wish before the 0% runs out.

I'll third that motion ... at least, that's what I would do!

Welcome! It's always nice to have new people blogging.

Since you plan to be debt free in 24 months (May 2010). I would definitely put a dent in any other debt except the 0% interest debts. How long is furniture at 0%?

Welcome! With a goal and a plan, I bet you'll be on the winning side too!

Go YOU!!! ...and welcome! CC#2 if you please. And are any of the other balances transferable to the 0% account?

The reason I'm paying them off in the way I am is that way the bills are taken care of... I'm looking to reduce the number of bills I pay as well as the interest I pay. I calculated it out, and if I pay off CC2 as expected by the end of may/middle of June, I will have paid around 6 dollars more in interest than if I had paid it first. It doesn't make sense monetarily to do it this way, but for simplification (for me) it does...

    Is there a reason you aren't transferring CC2 & 3 to the 0% card?
